We started this association in 2015, four years later, and your association is still run by a few geeks and technologists, but now we’ve added an educational institute to prepare for a next phase of growth.
Our management team consists of just two people, David Geddes and Tanya Porter – and although we’re a small two person team, we’re backup by amazing global leadership in our executive advisory board, our council for sports technology education, and many other volunteer outreach programs. Our plans are driven by industry demand and if you think we’re moving slowly, you only need to look at the growth of technology.
Currently, readers love to consume exciting sports technology stories positioned in innovation hubs across each country or global region. But unfortunately, interest does not create a healthy marketplace. There is very little global marketplace activity occurring and this poses a challenge for the larger marketplace. Of course, elite Olympic levels are indeed global but the market size is too small at this point to effect a healthy sector and of course, we can’t ignore the accelerators who see startup activity from everywhere on the planet – again, its a great sign, but challenged by maturity.
Now is the time to make that great leap of startup faith and begin collaborating across geographical and cultural divides. We urge all sports industry professionals to take the time to attend our global conference which is dedicated to educating and sharing to advance the global marketplace. You’ll meet our team, you’ll meet recognized accelerators, you’ll meet trainers and coaches, you’ll meet marketers and researchers, and a few brave investors. Jump start your career, jump start your programs get involved.
ISTA’s TX/RX is the new educational knowledge transfer conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Come meet us and influence the global future of sports technology.
